Q: What is the design concept for this project?
The design aims to break free from and transform the oppressive feeling of a compact living space. One of the core principles is to follow the light source's path to establish a bright axis within the home. The conventional TV wall was replaced with a liftable audiovisual setup, eliminating visual obstructions and expanding the shared public area. In terms of aesthetics, the design adopts harmonious proportions of color blocks, achieving a clean, pure, and understated elegance.
Q: What layout changes were made, and why?
- Removing the kitchen wall: This adjustment made the public area more rectangular, aligning with the homeowner's desire for a clear and bright home. Free-flowing light enhances the sense of spaciousness, and walls painted in British blue shine brilliantly under the natural light.
- Sealing the kitchen door leading to the balcony: This modification freed up a complete L-shaped area, enabling the installation of a sink and integrated dishwasher, thus enhancing the versatility of appliance storage.
